Samsung has been rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system (OS) for Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge users since last week (for beta version users), but the update has suddenly come to a halt for millions of consumers in China.

GSMArena.com has reported that the updated had to be stopped due to bugs. The publication also revealed that Galaxy S7 edge users in China were getting another beta update for their devices, even though the beta program has already ended last month. However, sources say the update is now being re-released.

Meanwhile, users in the United Kingdom can breathe a sigh of relief because they can continue updating without a hitch. The Daily Express has revealed that users can finally update their devices again after hours of waiting. However, there are still a lot of users who are unable to update their smartphones, so it seems that this may be a staggered launch. Consumers will have to be patient and wait their turn.

Many users initially thought that something went wrong after they failed to upgrade their phones to Android Nougat. Some even thought that the release date was changed. Samsung hasn't released a statement yet addressing the issue, but it looks like they will continue to roll out the update. It should be noted, though, that the update is based on Nougat Android 7.0 and not Android 7.1.1 as previously reported by a number of publications.

The update is around 1.2 GB in size and users have to remember to back up their data before installing just in case something goes wrong during the installation process. It never hurts to be careful.

For now, the UK and China are the first countries to receive the Nougat Android update. Hopefully, users from other parts of the world don't have to wait too long to get their devices updated.
