Anne Graham Lotz: 3 sins America is guilty of
Anne Graham Lotz said America is committing three sins before God, and it is time for the nation to "cry out" for God's mercy and forgiveness.
Lotz, daughter of evangelist Billy Graham and the founder of AnGel Ministries, said the nation is "in a mess at every level." She described America's condition is a "Romans 1 type of judgment" wherein God has backed away and has given the people over to their sins.
"I think He weeps as He backs away, because He is turning us over to ourselves," she said at the "Joni Table Talk" program on DayStar, where she appeared to talk about her new book, "The Daniel Prayer: Prayer That Moves Heaven and Changes Nations."
Lotz then identified three sins that the U.S. is committing before God as a nation: abortion, abandoning Israel, and gay marriage and the LGBT agenda "that flies in the face of what God has ordained."
These three sins, according to Lotz, are "nationally legalized, institutional sins in our country."
Lotz believes Jesus could return sooner than many people expect Him to. The nation is standing at a "critical time," she said.
The evangelist gave similar comments during an interview with CBN News in April, where she mentioned the world is now seeing the signs of the end times as enumerated in Matthew 24, such as "record-breaking" natural calamities.
These signs are like the birth pains that Jesus mentioned, she said, and they are occurring with increasing intensity.
She also said the gospel is being preached to the whole world "for the first time in human history."
"The Gospel right now is going around the globe to the whole world. Jesus said, 'Then the end would come,'" Lotz said in the interview.
In the Daystar program, Lotz identified other sins the nation is guilty of, such as pushing aside the teaching of Creation and instructing students about the principle of evolution.
She added that the proliferation of sexual immorality in the U.S. is a consequence of the nation not turning to God.
"When we refuse to repent of our sin and turn to God, then in [Romans] verse 26, God gives us over to sexual depravity. Which is what we see all around us today. Then, we refuse to repent of our sin and turn to God," the evangelist explained.
But there is still hope, according to Lotz.
"I don't think we are too far gone, but I believe we are reaching the point of no return," she said as she urged the people to come before God and ask for His mercy.
