Looks like those who are anxiously waiting for the release of Apple's upcoming product AirPods won't have to wait for much longer.

The AirPods, Apple's newest wireless earphones, was announced during the launch of the iPhone 7 back in September. It was expected to be released in October, but those plans did not push through, and the product's launch was inevitably delayed.

"The early response to AirPods has been incredible. We don't believe in shipping a product before it's ready, and we need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers," an Apple spokesperson told TechCrunch.

There were no specific reasons stated as to why the launch of the AirPods had to be delayed, but many were starting to grow concerned that the wireless earphones won't get released until early 2017. However, recent reports have revealed that the shipment for the AirPods just might make it in time for Christmas.

According to MacRumours, an email was forwarded to them in which Apple chief executive Tim Cook responded to a customer's inquiry and allegedly stated that the AirPods will start to get shipped in the next few weeks.

"Give us a release date," the person told Cook. "I really bought in to the wireless vision you painted. Now I'm stuck waiting with my EarPods but can't charge my 7 at the same time which I need to do at work. Let us know if it's a month or 6 months, because then I'll just buy some other wireless headphones."

"Thanks for your note," Cook responded. "Sorry for the delay---we are finalizing them and I anticipate we will begin to ship over the next few weeks."

In its official website, Apple describes the AirPods as wireless, effortless, and magical. AirPods are automatically on and always connected, and are easy to use because of its simple one-tap setup. They can also sense when they're in your ears, and they pause songs once taken out. It boasts of a custom-made Apple W1 chip and up to 5 hours of battery life on one charge.

Once the AirPods are made available for purchase, Apple users in the United States could buy the wireless earphone for the reported amount of $159.
