Apple iOS 9 Devices Appear In Google Analytics Statistics
The adoption of iOS 8 is slowly growing and is currently headed towards the 70 percent mark as Apple readies iOS 8.1.3 to be followed by the release of iOS 8.2.
News surrounding iOS 9 has already started to heat up with analytics from websites reporting the emergence of devices running the operating system.
The first report of iOS 9 came from the Czech tech site letemsvetemapplem which stated that devices running the operating system had visited the site and these visits were recorded on Google Analytics. Since that initial report, several sites such as Forbes have stated that it is logical that Apple should have beta versions of the operating system on devices as they usually release major OS updates in July or August.
Google analytics from the Czech site showed that devices running iOS 9 had visited on three separate days in the month of January. Explaining this occurrence, Forbes said it is highly unlikely that Apple might have employed fake devices to befuddle analytics run by websites.
Since the initial report, another website Cult of Mac reported that devices running iOS9 had started appearing in the analytics of their website sometime in November 2014. After this, Appleinsider also reported increased traffic from devices running iOS 9, starting last December.
As for the features of iOS 9, very little is known even though rumors abound that Apple could use some of its acquisitions such as HopStop to improve its Maps offering. Also the operating system could feature technology to aid indoor navigation as Apple has purchased WifiSLAM. Another rumor indicated that Siri could be made available to third-party software downloaded from the app store, which would then work in tandem with Siri.
With iOS 9 rumors gathering steam, attention has also been growing on the release of iOS 8.1.3, which is supposed to happen sometime this week.
