Apple iPad Air 3 release date, update, specs rumors: Expected in 2017; to feature A10 processor?
The year is almost coming to an end and there is still no sign of Apple's iPad Air 3. But that doesn't stop rumors from coming in.
The latest speculation to hit reports is that the Apple iPad Air 3 is most likely going to be launched sometime next year. Early rumors suggested that the device will be out before the year ends. Although this is still possible, many predict that 2017 is the year for the next-generation tablet.
Reports detailed that several still expect it will come out this October. Following the pattern of the release of its predecessors, the iPad Air 3 could still come out this month. The original iPad Air was launched in October 2013 while the iPad Air 2 came out the following year in the same month.
Aside from that, reports said that Apple has already started dropping prices for the current generation, the iPad air 2. Putting devices on sale is usually an indication that a new one is coming.
Moreover, the Cupertino-based company has yet to release other products which include the MacBook Pro 2016 and iMac 2016 computer. If the two are going to be launched before the year ends, the iPad Air 3 could be coming alongside it.
As of now, nothing is certain yet so Apple users will have to stay tuned. As for the specs and features, reports cited that the tablet is most likely going to be running on an A10 processor which is currently being used by the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
With this chipset technology, the smartphones are deemed as the fastest mobile systems of today. Adding the A10 processor to the iPad Air 3 will make the device a very powerful one. The iPad Air 3 is also rumored to be thinner than its predecessor and could be coming with Apple Pencil compatibility.
Nothing has been confirmed yet so it's best to take these reports with a pinch of salt.
