iPad mini 5 release date, specs news: Tablet to come out in September with Lightning-type port?
The Apple iPad mini 5 has been in the rumor mill for a while now. Despite the company's continued silence with regard to its development and release, fans remained positive that the device will come out anytime soon.
Nonetheless, the absence of the tablet at the ongoing Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference or WWDC 2016 made fans a little concerned. However, new reports have emerged suggesting that Apple has been planning for a September release for the Apple iPad mini 5.
According to tech observers, the current annual Apple event has always been known to showcase the company's newly developed software and this could be the reason why the Cupertino-based company decided to skip the Apple iPad mini 5 at the WWDC 2016.
There are speculations suggesting that the highly anticipated tablet will come out along with another rumored device, the iPhone 7. If rumors prove to be true, it will surely be an exciting end of the year for Apple fanatics.
The previous releases of the iPad mini line happened during fall. The first model came out in October 2014, while the second one arrived in the exact same month as its predecessor. Both releases happened a month after the iPhone models of those years were launched.
However, last year's iPad mini 5 was launched in September 2015, along with the current iPhone iteration. If Apple follows a release pattern for their iPad mini devices, the upcoming iPad mini 5 will certainly be unveiled in September, which is exactly the same month as the mini 4's release last year.
Meanwhile, the features included on the new iPad mini 5 reportedly include a new headphone jack technology called Lightning-type port as Apple decides to ditch the 3.5mm port. The same feature will also be found on the rumored iPhone 7.
As of now, fans will have to wait for the company to provide solid details with regard to its development and release date.
