The new iPhone 8 is expected to come out next month. Despite the hype that has surrounded its development and release, many people are also talking about the 2017 version of the Apple flagship smartphone. According to the latest reports, the upcoming iPhone 8 will be packed with advanced specifications and exciting features. There are also speculations suggesting that the handset will no longer sport the traditional home button that Apple is known for.

According to a report by Bloomberg, the Cupertino-based company has already started planning on making a major redesign for the upcoming iPhone 8. The publication suggested that Apple will focus more on the display system of the device by eliminating the iconic home button. However, nothing has been set in stone yet and Apple is expected not to provide concrete details with regard to the development of iPhone 8. The company is currently focusing on the release of the new iPhone 7.

There are also rumors saying that the eighth-generation iPhone will completely have a new design as Apple will adapt to the curved display technology. There are even speculations saying that Apple may tap Samsung to supply them with their OLED displays for the upcoming iPhone 8.

Meanwhile, a known industry observer, John Gruber, said last May that the complete modification of Apple's 2017 model will surprise a lot of people in the industry.

"What I have heard, now this is not really from the rumor mill but just scuttlebutt that I've heard, is that it will be an all-new form factor," Gruber said.

"And there have been some rumors, I guess, but what I'm saying is that I've heard this independently and it is completely getting rid of the chin and forehead of the phone. The entire face will be the display. And the Touch ID sensor will be somehow embedded in the display. The front-facing camera will somehow be embedded in the display. The speaker, everything. All the sensors will somehow be behind the display."

For now, fans may have to concentrate on the upcoming iPhone 7 as Apple is said to be preparing for a big release next on Sept. 7.
