Apple Watch 2 release date, specs news update: Second gen Apple tech watch to come out in September?
Apple fans certainly have something to get excited about following several rumors circulating that the second generation Apple Watch will be released in September.
There are reports saying that the Cupertino-based company will hold an event in September to launch multiple Apple devices including the highly anticipated Apple Watch 2.
The company has recently released a new software update for the current Apple Watch model, which is the watchOS 2.2.2. The new software version was rolled out on July 8 to fix several bugs and issues of the previous software update, the watchOS 2.2.1, which was launched 2 months ago.
If the rumored Apple Watch 2 should come out in September, many people expect it to arrive with pre-installed watchOS 2.2.2. However, there are speculations circulating that the new tech watch may come with Apple watchOS 3, which is said to be rolled out anytime soon. According to reports, the upcoming software will feature new apps and improve the reliability of the operating system.
Meanwhile, previous reports suggested that the new Apple Watch 2 will be more convenient compared to its predecessor. It is said to be an independent device that allows users to access its functionalities through the device itself. The current Apple Watch relies too much on the Apple iPhone for its features to work. Users will no longer have to use the iPhone to make calls and send text messages. Rumor has it that the device will carry its own cellular feature and sport a WiFi chip.
Nonetheless, there are some concerns from tech observers who are saying that if Apple decides to make an independent Apple Watch 2, the company will have to upgrade the battery to sustain the functionalities of the wearable device.
Despite the hype that is brought by these rumors and speculations, Apple has yet to officially announce the Apple Watch 2.
