Apple Watch 2 release date, specs news update: Next gen tech watch will run on better specs, says report

The highly anticipated Apple Watch 2 has been making headlines lately as rumors of its release in September are getting rampant. Many fans were disappointed when Apple decided to skip the second generation tech watch during the recently concluded Worldwide Developers Conference or WWDC 2016.

Fans speculate that the Apple Watch 2 will not have any design changes, but have more on internal changes | Apple

However, tech observers are positive that the Cupertino-based company will unveil the wearable device in September along with other Apple products such as the iPhone 7 and MacBook Pro 2016.

According to the latest buzz, Ming-Chi Kuo, a KGI Securities analyst, said that fans will most likely see the new Apple Watch 2 in the market in the second half of the year. He also mentioned that the smart watch will run with a more powerful TSMC-built processor.

Along with a faster chipset, the device will also feature an advanced GPS system, barometer, larger battery and a state of the art waterproofing technology. What's interesting is that Kuo, who is said to have many sources in China, predicts that the upcoming Apple Watch 2 will be sporting the same screen size of its predecessor, as well as its thickness.

It was previously reported by MacRumors that Apple will release the Apple Watch 2 with a thinner display technology; however, it will retain the overall form factor of the existing Apple Watch model. Previous rumors have also suggested that the Apple Watch 2 will have its own cellular connectivity; however, Kuo believes that the LTE technology will not happen until next year.

Meanwhile, Apple has yet to announce the development of the Apple Watch 2, much less its release date. Fans and critics have been sharing predictions with regard to the device for quite some time now. If rumors prove to be true, the new Apple Watch 2 will no longer be dependent to the iPhone smartphone as it will have its own cellular and Wi-Fi connectivity.
