Oliver (Stephen Arnell) seeks justice, but Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) wants revenge on the upcoming episode of The CW's "Arrow" season 5.

Titled "Who Are You," the show's midseason premiere picks up with the return of a familiar face. According to the official synopsis, Oliver's latest encounter with Prometheus leads him to think the supervillain is right about him being truly a killer at heart. As a result, he looks for any ray of hope and finds it in what appears to be the miraculous return of Laurel Lance (guest star Katie Cassidy).

On the other hand, while serving time in prison, Diggle (David Ramsey) must fight for his life. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) is still reeling from Detective Malone's (Tyler Ritter) murder, and she is hell-bent on doing whatever it takes to stop Prometheus' reign of terror once and for all.

Felicity appears to be taking a darker path this season and some fans are concerned that it was triggered by Det. Billy Malone — a man she could barely call her boyfriend. In an interview with TV Line, executive producer Marc Guggenheim clarifies that it was indeed a result of a "bunch of stuff," including the Havenrock tragedy which will be further explored in the 11th episode. "Billy was the final straw. It's also the sum of the fact that Felicity has been living in this darker world for the last four-plus years now.... How has that affected her way of thinking about things?" the EP said.

Despite the recent complications for the show's characters, the good news for fans is that Team Arrow's story will surely go on for another season. The CW recently announced early renewals for a number of its fan-favorite programs, including all of its superhero shows such as "The Flash," "Supergirl," "Legends of Tomorrow," and "Arrow."

The fifth season of "Arrow" premieres on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
