One of the characters fans want to see return in "Arrow" season 5 is Roy Harper also known as Arsenal, played by actor Colton Haynes. However, this sought-after comeback might have to wait.

Executive producer Wendy Mericle revealed to TVLine that the "Teen Wolf" alum is currently not booked to return to the upcoming season, but they would love to see him in Star City once more.

"We would have Roy back in a heartbeat," Mericle said. "If the right circumstances come up and the right storyline presents itself, absolutely," she continued.

There were previous rumors that Haynes will be back in "Arrow" season 5, with the star himself reportedly confirming the gig. This is not the case after all.

"Arrow" fans loved the actor's work as Roy Harper in the DC Comics television series. He first played Roy in the first season as a recurring role but quickly became a series regular in the second and third season, where his character had a send-off.

Haynes made a special appearance in the last season and was expected to appear on "Arrow" season 5. It is a mystery if Roy's return was not made possible due to his commitment to "Scream Queens."

The Fox horror comedy is currently filming for second season, where Haynes was tapped to for a story arc where he will play the role of a mysterious patient.

Although it is not looking like Haynes will be on "Arrow" season 5, another casting was announced, this time for the comic book character of Christopher Chance better known as the Human Target.

Crossing from Marvel's "Jessica Jones" to the DC Flarrowverse in The CW, Wil Traval will play the part. The actor portrayed villain Will Simpson in the former.

In the comics, Human Target is a bodyguard and has the ability to take the form of individuals targeted by assassins. He will appear in episode 5 of "Arrow" season 5 for a new client—Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell).

"Arrow" season 5 will premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
