'Ash vs Evil Dead' season 2 episode 9 spoilers: Ash and crew time travel to save Pablo
In a show like "Ash vs Evil Dead," happy endings are hard to come by. But Starz's horror comedy took tragedy a notch higher last Sunday when it treated its viewers to Baal's (Joel Tobeck) ultimate defeat, only to take their breaths away again when Pablo (Ray Santiago) quite literally fell off his perch a second later.
The internet was flooded by tears and grief when Ash's (Bruce Campbell) endearing and most faithful sidekick died right after successfully banishing Baal back to hell. Actor Santiago took to Twitter to thank fans for the love and support they have been sending his way. Staying true to form, he even ended his message with an appropriately inappropriate pun, "May he rest in pieces."
There is no doubt that Pablo is dead, but whether he stays dead for good is the big question that gave fans of the show hope for his potential return, especially after the show's official Twitter account teased that something significant might happen by the end of the season. Can Pablo's fate be reversed?
The official press release for the next episode titled "Home Again" also gives fans a sliver of hope. Pablo did say in the previous episode that Ash would never give up on him, ergo he would never give up on Ash. The chainsaw-wielding deadite hunter will prove this true in episode 9 when he figures out a way to bring his friend back: time travel. He plans to go back in time to stop his younger self from ever crossing paths with the Necronomicon.
However, every attempt at changing the past always comes with dire consequences, and the butterfly effect that Ash and crew will create to bring Pablo back may lead to something none of them would ever expect.
But how will they even manage to travel back in time? The episode preview seems to hint that Ash's beloved Delta will have something to do with it. Does Ash succeed in bringing Pablo back? What price do they have to pay for it?
