Ashley Williams and Neal Dodson baby news announced months after actress' tragic miscarriage
"How I Met Your Mother" alum Ashley Williams and husband Neal Dodson are expecting their second child together, months after her devastating miscarriage.
The actress made the announcement on her Twitter account, saying their son Gus was asking for a pony but will get a baby brother instead.
She also debuted her growing baby bump at the red carpet of the Hallmark Channel event during the Television Critics Association winter press tour which she attended with her sister, Kimberly Williams-Paisley.
In Sept. 2016, Williams opened up about her tragic miscarriage in an essay posted on the website of the Human Development Project. She intended to inspire other women who also suffered from a miscarriage to talk about their ordeal and avoid being embarrassed by it.
The actress known for portraying the role of Ted Mosby's (Josh Radnor) girlfriend, Victoria, in the fan-favorite sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" narrated how she found out that her eight-week pregnancy ended while she and her two-year-old son were doing their grocery at Whole Foods.
"I invite you to start, with me, a vocal army of the 25-percenters who can normalize miscarriage in the social sphere," Williams wrote to address all the other women who also suffered the same fate. "I was right there next to you at Whole Foods, bleeding out of my shorts. Now I'm well. I'm a survivor. Healed, I will try again."
Aside from "How I Met Your Mother" where her recurring role appear all throughout the first season as well as the show's season 7 to season 9, Williams also appeared in other TV projects like "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "The Mentalist," "The Good Wife," as well as two Hallmark TV movies titled "October Kiss" and "Love on a Limb."
Williams and Dodson's second child is expected to arrive in Spring 2017.
