Atlanta Hawks trade rumors: Hawks could make two more trades for season

With the National Basketball Association gearing up for the 2016-17 season, trade talks are still active and the Atlanta Hawks are no exception.

They have made significant moves in the off-season but there are still discussions that are linking them to more movement before or during the season. Fan Sided mentioned two possible trades for the Eastern Conference squad, and this could make a big difference on their direction in the coming campaign.

One of the possibilities is moving away Tim Hardaway, Jr. Now in his fourth year in the league, Hardaway was moved to the Hawks after two seasons with the New York Knicks.

With the Hawks, Hardaway played a total of 51 regular season games, averaging 6.4 points and 1.7 rebounds per game which is his lowest since arriving in the league.

Hardaway has found it difficult to find his spot with the team, and clearly struggled in the playoffs as his production dropped to 2.2 points and one rebound per game in nine appearances for Atlanta.

The team now has younger talents who have similar styles of play with Hardaway, and it can be expected that they will be given more minutes so they can develop.

Naturally, this leaves Hardaway as the odd man out and given that he is playing his final year in his contract, the Hawks may give him up for another prospect.

The other, bigger name in the trade block is Paul Millsap. He has been linked to some teams recently but none have ever been more than rumors.

This time, it was suggested that the Hawks can try to trade Millsap along with Walter Tavares and a 2018 pick to the Phoenix Suns for younger players like Alex Len, PJ Tucker and Archie Goodwin, along with a 2017 draft pick.

If this trade is made, it will help the Hawks in the future as they will have more pieces to build and continue as a contender.

Millsap is much older now at 31 years old and may be well past his prime.
