Among the many special characters that will appear in the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity War," the big bad has been tagged as the main man of the film. Meanwhile, Mantis — who will be portrayed by Pom Klementieff — has been added to the list of heroes to appear in "Avengers: Infinity War."

"Avengers: Infinity War" is coming to theaters in 2018, and it has a line up of heroes that will surely make it a blockbuster. The characters set to appear in the upcoming Marvel film are Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Star Lord (Chris Pratt), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Groot (Vin Diesel), and even previously missing-in-action Hulk (Mark Ruffalo).

However, even with this amazing list of heroes, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige shared that Thanos — portrayed by Josh Brolin — is the main character of "Avengers: Infinity War."

Collider confirmed this while on the set of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." "Thanos in 'Infinity War' is – in a movie that has a lot of characters, you could almost go so far as to say he is the main character, and that's a bit of a departure from what we've done before, but that was appropriate for a movie called 'Infinity War,'" Feige explained to Collider.

It is expected that "Infinity War" opens with Thanos holding no Infinity Stones, but he will be collecting them throughout the film, bumping into different heroes along the way.

Aside from the long list of superheroes already set for "Infinity Wars," Klementieff's Mantis was recently added to the cast of the film.

It was confirmed by the actress herself when she posted an "Avengers" comic book featuring Mantis on her Instagram account, followed by a photo of herself wearing an "Infinity War" branded bonnet.

"Avengers: Infinity War" is slated to premiere on May 4, 2018.
