'Avengers: Infinity War' release date news update: Marvel has already filmed Stan Lee's next four cameos
Stan Lee is easily one of the most recognizable faces in comics today. He's responsible for creating most of the characters that dominate the superhero genre, and he has made a trend with Marvel movies by appearing in cameo roles in every film. At 93 years-old, it must be pretty difficult for "Stan the Man" to get up and shoot some cameos. Marvel, however, has come prepared, and they say that he has already shot four cameos for upcoming Marvel movies.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige made the statement about Stan Lee's cameos at a Q&A session after a special screening of "Captain America: Civil War."
He said, "We do not shoot random ones. They're always very specific... A couple of months ago in Atlanta, he flew down and we shot four in one day -- for four various projects. They're all awesome! They're all totally different. And he was unbelievable. He was on fire. He came in, he sat here, he stood there, he stood in this window, and then he went home."
As of now, the upcoming Marvel movies are "Doctor Strange," "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," "Thor: Ragnarok," "Spider-Man: Homecoming,""Black Panther," and "Avengers: Infinity War." Some speculate that Lee will make an appearance in most of those movies.
It is interesting to note that Stan Lee cameos didn't start with the MCU at all. He made a cameo as a hotdog vendor in Bryan Singer's first "X-Men" film back in 2000. He has then appeared in numerous Marvel films not produced by Marvel Studios, including Sony's "Spider-Man" and Fox's "Fantastic Four." It was, however, the MCU that made Lee's cameos a franchise trademark.
Will "Stan the Man" appear in "Avengers: Infinity War?" It's very likely.
Audiences should keep their eyes peeled for Stan Lee's cameo in "Avengers: Infinity War" when it hits theaters on May 4, 2018.
