'Batman: Return to Arkham' release date, updates: Game gets a side-by-side comparison trailer
"Batman: Return to Arkham" finally has an official release date which is on Oct .18, 2016. The game is a remastered version of the first two games in the "Arkham" franchise, "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and "Batman: Arkham City."
According to ComicBookMovie.com, when the remastered version was first announced and the teaser came out, fans have actually pointed out that the original games looked better. The fan backlash led the developers to delay the release date, and now that they seem to have solved all the issues that the fans had, they have already released a new trailer for the remastered version as well.
As of now, fans are still divisive on the remastered edition of the "Arkham" games, saying that some elements do look a lot better while some are still lackluster compared to the original games. The developers also didn't seem to fix the lip sync problem that the first game had.
Nevertheless, there will always be fans who are willing to dish out cash for the remastered versions of games. The "Return to Arkham" pack also includes all the DLC that have been previously released for the past games.
Fans also cannot forget how the "Arkham" franchise had put a new standard for comic book video games. Ever since the game came out with its battle system and "Detective Mode," almost every other game seemed to follow suit, and even Spider-man was able to get his own "X-ray vision."
The release of "Arkham Knight" has not been praised as much as "Arkham City," which is considered to be the peak of the franchise. Another developer was in charge of making the "Arkham Origins" game, and though Rocksteady was back for "Arkham Knight," the game was not as well received by the fans as "Arkham City." For example, there were still complaints about levels that required too much use of the Batmobile.
"Batman: Return to Arkham" is scheduled for release on Oct. 18, 2016.
