The holiday update for "Battlefield 1" is finally out, bringing in new custom game modes and other extra content. The said update is free for all players, and it will remain live until Dec. 29 with a free downloadable "Holiday Truce" dog tag.

Starting last Thursday, players can log on to the game and automatically get the free dog tag, which is reportedly inspired by the 1914 World War I Christmas Truce. Developer DICE has confirmed that the special Dog Tag will be awarded to all players of "Battlefield 1."

As Gamerant points out, each player that logs into the game from the holiday event period will also be receiving a free Superior Battlepack, which contains some rare and valuable weapon skins. Aside from that, players who bought the Premium Pass will have an additional two Superior Battlepacks for free. These two are part of the normal 14 promised Superior Battlepacks arriving in the coming months.

In addition, the latest update brings in a new custom game called "Blind Delivery." This mode is a variant of the War Pigeons mode in which the minimap is turned off. Weaponry is only limited to explosives and handguns, and it can be found in the Custom Game tab of the game's multiplayer menu.

On another note, DICE has recently outlined the features they might add to the game's rent-a-server feature. In a blog post, DICE said their considering restructuring their server browser because to date, it doesn't do enough to highlight rented servers.

"In an effort to address this, we are looking into giving all rented servers priority in the server browser. This means that rented servers will always be displayed at the top of the server browser," the developers explained.

Developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts, "Battlefield 1" is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows PC.
