'Battlefield 4' News: Latest Patch Introduces 5 New Weapons In Popular Gun Master Mode
A new patch arriving for "Battlefield 4" will reportedly include five new weapons in the popular Gun Master mode seen in "Battlefield 3."
News of the spring patch was mentioned on the online Battlelog site by David Sirland, a DICE game producer. His post detailed major changes in "Battlefield 4."
Sirland said the patch would arrive before the end of this month to all platforms, adding that when it arrives, DICE will release detailed patch notes.
The Gun Master mode is attracting the most attention since it was a hit in the DLC titled "Battlefield 3: Close Quarters." It allows players to get new weapons each time they successful carry out a couple of kills back to back. When the final weapon is used, the player who gets the final kill emerges victorious. There are 18 weapons in each of the five presets in the mode. These five different presets are Troll, Standard, Classic, DLC and Pistol.
As for guns, there are five new additions. The first addition is an assault rifle with a "unique burst gameplay." The second is a new carbine bullpup, which comes with a vertical grip. The third is a personal defense weapon with silencer, which could come in handy in situations where suppression fire is needed. The fourth is a new sidearm equipped with magnum rounds. The fifth is a light machine gun described as a cross between a belt-fed version and a "run and gun" assault rifle.
The patch is also said to improve client stability across all platforms.
When "Battlefield 4" was first released, it was riddled with bugs, many of which were subsequently removed by the patches released by the developer DICE.
The latest released patches focused on providing new content to players.
