Ben Carson has brushed off recent attacks made by 2016 presidential hopeful Donald Trump, who suggested that Carson lacks the business acumen and the energy to be Commander-in-Chief.

Trump made his recent comments on CBS's "Face the Nation," suggesting that Carson's past experienced as an accomplished neurosurgeon would not fit into becoming president of the United States.

"Well, I'm a deal-maker. I will make great deals for this country. Ben can't do that. Ben's a doctor, and he's not a deal-maker," Trump told the political program.

Carson retorted by telling CBS's "Face the Nation" that "You have to be humble enough to be able to listen to other people and recognize that, sometimes, they might actually know more than you do, and be able to integrate that."

The retired neurosurgeon elaborated on his point on ABC's "This Week," saying "It doesn't bother me, because I recognize that I have plenty of energy."

"You know, operating on people for 10, 12, sometimes for greater than 20 hours at a time, making critical decisions after many hours of intense work, having unexpected situations come up. You don't have to be loud to be energetic," Carson added.

Trump has received criticism from other 2016 presidential hopefuls who argue that the real estate mogul should not be taken seriously as a candidate for the upcoming election.

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, who is also seeking the presidential ticket, recently said at an event that Trump is "carnival act" seeking publicity and should not be taken seriously as a potential presidential candidate.
