'Better Call Saul' season 3 news: Latest teaser shows Jimmy in a police station; actor Aaron Paul speaks on Jesse Pinkman's possible cameo

"Better Call Saul" will soon be back for new episodes, and the first teaser for the much-anticipated third season has been released by AMC.

The network kicked off the new year with a short teaser for "Better Call Saul," and though it only features about fifteen seconds of footage, it somehow gives fans an idea on where Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) will be when the series returns.

Towards the end of season 2, Chuck (Michael McKean) was able to make Jimmy confess to tampering with court documents in an effort to screw him over. He got the whole thing on tape, and it seems that Jimmy was arrested because of what his brother did. In the short clip, Jimmy is getting booked and photographed at a police station, which suggests that Chuck might have used the recording against Jimmy. As a result, Slippin' Jimmy will be certainly done trying to save his relationship with Chuck next season as he starts getting closer to embracing his Saul Goodman identity.

With two seasons in, "Better Call Saul" is able to balance "Breaking Bad" elements with its own separate and emotionally complex plot. Notable characters from the original AMC drama have already made cameo appearances, including Tuco (Raymond Cruz), Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito), and Mike (Jonathan Banks). Many fans have been wondering when "Breaking Bad" leads Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston will appear in the series, and it seems that Paul is also asking the same question himself.

"I was actually just with all of them [the Breaking Bad gang] at the AFI luncheon yesterday," Paul told Esquire during Saturday's TCA press tour. "And I did ask that question–when am I gonna come to Albuquerque for my wardrobe fitting? But I don't know! It's still up in the air," the actor went on to say.

The actor added that he is a huge fan of "Better Call Saul," and he enjoys seeing cameos from the original series. "It's so exciting, especially as someone that really lived within the show and felt like it really happened to me. It's nice to just get more of a backstory from these characters," he continued.

The third season of "Better Call Saul" premieres in spring 2017 on AMC.
