"Better Call Saul" season 3 will see some of the characters in its parent series, "Breaking Bad." First on the list is, of course, Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito).

The drug lord has made his presence felt in the previous season and the creators themselves teased his arrival by spelling it out with the first letter of the titles of the season 2 episodes: "FRINGS BACK."

"Better Call Saul" co-showrunner Peter Gould recently told Digital Spy that Fring may have a greater presence come the new season. "It's a good possibility Fring's gonna play a role in season 3," Gould said.

"There's no doubt that Gus Fring is a fascinating character. He's the most brilliant character on Breaking Bad in his own way, although he has a terrible blind spot when it comes to Walter White (Bryan Cranston)," he continued.

With regards to how he will be brought into the fray in "Better Call Saul" season 3, there is no information on that yet although Gould and his co-showrunner Vince Gilligan said in the past that Fring works in the dark and is not one to show himself in his dealings.

This suggests that he might simply be pulling the strings yet and after making sure one has gone through hell to meet him, he will show his face.

Fring's arrival would mean big changes for Mike (Jonathan Banks). As "Breaking Bad" fans know very well, he becomes his right-hand man.

"It seems tough to imagine that this Mike would ever become the man that we saw on Breaking Bad, so it'll be interesting to see what changes in Mike... and it would be fascinating to learn more about Gus Fring," he continued.

Meanwhile, "Better Call Saul" season 3 will not just bring back Fring but also several more characters that Gould and Gilligan would like to keep as a secret for now.

"Better Call Saul" season 3 will premiere early next year on AMC.
