'Better Call Saul' season 3 spoilers news: Old villain said to return this season
"Breaking Bad" fans will be happy to hear that another villain from the show will be making an appearance in the spin-off "Better Call Saul." In an interview with "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," Bob Odenkirk (Jimmy McGill) confirms that this season will see the return of Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) to the criminal world of Albuquerque.
According to Time, fans have speculated for a while that Gus will be back for the show's third season. The first letters of every episode in the second season spell "Fring's Back." Odenkirk has confirmed the fan discovery but has admitted that he has yet to talk to Esposito. He says, "I'm looking for him ... He's coming back."
The return of Gus Fring won't be the first time that "Breaking Bad" characters have crossed over to "Better Call Saul." The first season saw the return of crazed drug kingpin Tuco Salamanca (Raymond Cruz) going head-to-head with Jimmy. He also returned for the second season, this time with an arc involving Mike (Jonathan Banks), and his twin cousins (Daniel and Luis Moncada) also made an appearance.
Fans are also expectant to see a cameo appearance from Heisenberg himself, Walter White (Bryan Cranston). Cranston was reported to be a director for one of the episodes in season 3, and having Jimmy bump into Walt in the street (or having him clean his car in the car wash) would be nothing but a treat.
Numerous "Breaking Bad" characters have yet to make their appearances in the show. Saul's associates Huell (Lavell Crawford) and Kuby (Bill Burr) will likely have episodes that introduce them into Jimmy's life.
There's also a big chance that the show will have Jesse's (Aaron Paul's) friend Emilio (John Koyama) being helped out by Jimmy because his work with Emilio was the very thing that led Jesse and Walt to ask for his help back in season 2 of "Breaking Bad."
"Better Call Saul" is set to return in 2017.
