Billy Graham shares important lesson in finding love
Renowned American evangelist Billy Graham has shared some important lessons in finding love.
In a Q&A published by Kansas City Star, the 97 year old preacher gives advice to a reader by the initials of E.N., who said her boyfriend seemed to be fond of vices such as drinking, and is not looking for a job.
"I admit my boyfriend isn't perfect, but he says that once we're married he'll stop drinking and find a good job and everything. My parents say I shouldn't believe him, but how do they know? I think he really loves me," she wrote in the column.
Graham responded by saying that the true strength of a relationship that lasts is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
He quoted the Bible in Proverbs 2:12, stating that "wisdom will save" her from "men whose words are perverse."
The evangelist also shared that throughout his ministry over the decades, he has encountered numerous people who were promised by their partners and spouses that they will change after marriage. However, a huge number of these promises were broken, because the people who made the promise did not see the need to change.
Graham also gave the most important advice to readers, which is to "seek God's will" for their marriage, urging them to trust God in planning and taking care of their love life.
