The upcoming debut film of the Black Panther will feature his past from the 90s. Meanwhile, "This Is Us" star Sterling K. Brown has been cast as someone from the Black Panther's past.

Chadwick Boseman will be reprising his role of the Black Panther in his own solo film this coming February 2018. According to the synopsis of "Black Panther," Boseman's T'Challa will have to defend the kingdom of Wakanda from enemies after being appointed as the new ruler.

The kingdom of Wakanda is a very advanced one, given that it is where the Black Panther's suit was made, and it serves as the source of metal used on Captain America's shield — vibranium.

But East Bay Times reported that a chunk of T'Challa's past, specifically the 90s, will be featured in "Black Panther."

The scene will feature T'Challa as a student at Saint Mary's College High School in Berkeley, who uses the AC Transit commuter daily. But the scene will be shot in Atlanta, Georgia instead of Oakland, and it will only use the AC Transit's logo on a vintage bus to feature the iconic transportation vehicle.

Meanwhile, Brown has been tagged to play a character named N'jobu, who is someone from T'Challa's past.

Brown praised the script of "Black Panther" and said that not only was it fantastic, but it also shed light on "really provocative questions."

Brown shared with Entertainment Tonight at the 2017 Film Independent Filmmaker Grant and Spirit Award Nominees Brunch in Los Angeles that "It is politically astute. It is incredibly socially relevant.

The actor added that "Black Panther" brings forward "the climate today of Africans and African-Americans — across the country and across the world — in a way that people will really be excited about."

But in relation to his character, Brown teased that he might lose a testicle if he spilled details about N'jobu.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, "Black Panther" premieres on Feb. 16, 2018.
