'Black Panther' release date, cast news, spoilers: Film not expected to feature an origin story

The Marvel film will begin productions by next year to be able to debut on 2018. Meanwhile, "Black Panther" will not feature an origin story.

The Black Panther, or T'Challa, played by Chadwick Boseman, was first introduced in "Captain America: Civil War." He is the son of King T'Chaka (John Kani) of the royal family of Wakanda, and he is the sworn guardian of their whole nation. He wears a black suit made out of Vibranium, the strongest metal known on earth that was also used for Captain America's (Chris Evans) shield. He uses martial arts and a set of sharp retractable claws in combat.

According to Comic Book, "Black Panther" will start productions in January 2017, and filming will mostly happen in Pinewood Atlanta Studios.

Cinema Blend reports that since Black Panther was already introduced in "Civil War," his solo film debut will not focus on an origin story. It is anticipated that his story will delve more into T'Challa's responsibility of defending his nation or protecting their most valuable asset, Vibranium.

The film is also expected to begin its timeline after the events that took place from "Captain America: Civil War."

So far, no official plot details have been released. But Lupita N'yongo, who will appear as Nakia in "Black Panther," shared some light into the film's story.

"The story of this Black Panther - what I am allowed to say - is that Black Panther's leadership has been threatened by two foes who come together, and so Black Panther gets the help of the C.I.A. and the Dora Milaje to try and defeat the enemy," N'yongo shared.

"Black Panther" belongs to Phase 3 of Marvel's Cinematic Universe movies, and it is set to debut on Feb. 16, 2018. Directors of the film are Ryan Coogler and Joe Robert Cole.
