The BlackBerry Passport and the LG G3 are two different beasts externally but in terms of specs they are quite alike. In a comparison, it is clear that the device from BlackBerry is a great tool for the workplace, but its competitor outscores it with better features and design.
Design
The LG G3 has a plastic body but has a premium look to it as it has a metal finish. It also has very narrow bezels which makes it look great. As for the BlackBerry Passport is it is shaped like a square with a physical keyboard running along its base. It has a premium aluminum body with a polycarbonate backing.
Display
The LG G3 has a bigger 5.5-inch IPS + LCD screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 538 pixels per inch, while the BlackBerry Passport has a 4.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1440 x 1440 pixels and a density of 453 pixels per inch.
Platform
While the LG G3 runs on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system and can be upgraded to 5.0 Lollipop, the BlackBerry Passport comes with the BlackBerry 10.3 OS. The BlackBerry Passport also has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801chipset, quad-core 2.26 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. The LG G3 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, coupled with a quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU.
Memory
In terms of RAM the BlackBerry Passport has 3 GB, while the 16 GB version of the LG G3 has 2 GB and its 32 GB version has 3 GB. Both devices have memory card slots which can be used to add external storage of up to 128 GB.
Price
With a contract, the BlackBerry Passport is expected to cost around $249 while its unlocked version is priced at $599. The LG G3 is priced at $149 with a two-year contract.
