'Blindspot' season 2 spoilers: Kurt and Shepherd's relationship revealed
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will finally find the connection between Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and Sandstorm leader Shepherd (Michelle Hurd) in episode 13 of "Blindspot" season 2.
In the previous episode, before the series took a short hiatus, Jane (Jaimie Alexander) discovered an old picture of Kurt together with his basketball team. In the photo, Shepherd was also seen sitting on the bench while watching the game. Jane asked Kurt if he can identify the woman in the photo, and he said that he can remember her. This could mean that Kurt's team can now pinpoint the real identity of the person who leads the dangerous terrorist group.
According to the synopsis for the episode that was posted on The Futon Critic, "The team gets a major break in the Sandstorm case when they discover Shepherd's true identity ... and a decades-old connection between her and Weller."
Past episodes revealed that Shepherd was the one who adopted Jane and Roman (Luke Mitchell) when they were younger. This could be a hint that Shepherd may not be who she was claiming to be.
Based on the trailer for the upcoming episode, Kurt will also find out the reason why his name was tattooed on Jane's back. It also revealed that he could be a double agent since Jane and Reade (Rob Brown) will point their guns at him. Kurt will plead to put their weapons down, but Jane will tell Reade not to trust their team leader because they still have no idea if they can trust him.
Meanwhile, Alexander hinted that a major death will happen in the upcoming installments of "Blindspot" season 2.
"There is a very shocking death that's coming up that I just read last week that I didn't know was going to happen," the actress told TV Guide. "It's very sad."
The upcoming episode of "Blindspot" season 2 will air on Wednesday, Feb. 8.
