'Bloodborne' Release Date Reviews, News: PS4 Game Gets 93% Rating Amid Positive Reviews
"Bloodborne," the latest game released by From Software, became available a few days ago and since then it has been earning a flurry of positive reviews from reviewers and players alike.
Feedback from gamers has been largely positive. "Bloodborne" has earned a score of 93 percent on the site Metacritic even as many gamers have struggled to remain alive in the game.
The game comes with a 2.7 gigabyte patch which gamers have to download and install first before they can play the game.
The game, which was exclusively released for PS4, can either be purchased from stores in disc form or bought and downloaded from the PSN.
Months ago, reports came out that "Bloodborne" would only be made available for PS4. But since its release and with the subsequent positive reception from the gaming community, more people have signed on a Change.org petition urging From Software to bring the game to PCs. However, this looks unlikely to happen as the company has already entered into a development agreement with Sony.
Directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, the mastermind behind popular games such as "Demon's Souls" and "Dark Souls," "Bloodborne" has much of the same mysterious vibe and is full of intricate combat pieces, outlandish environments with traps and of course enemies.
But in many ways it is different to "Dark Souls," which many gamers consider to be the best combat game ever created.
"Bloodborne" places the player in the shoes of a warrior who is on a quest to find something mysterious as he journeys through a town full of creatures suffering from the plague.
As the warrior overcomes his enemies, he needs to collect organic resources to replenish his own.
In "Bloodborne," the warrior does not have any shield and, instead of shifting from offense to defense and vice versa like in "Dark Souls," he has to remain perpetually on the attack in order to survive. If he does go into defensive mode, Game Informer said such passivity is instantly punished.
