'Bloodline' season 3 release date news 2016: Series given green light by Netflix
The waiting game for "Bloodline" season 3 has come to a close, thanks to Netflix officially renewing the high-tension drama series for 10 episodes. Now, fans will have something to look forward to, particularly when 2017 sets in.
There are reports that the upcoming season would further explore the secret of the Rayburn family. Coming back to reprise their roles are Kyle Chandler who plays John Rayburn, Sissy Spacek who plays Sally Rayburn, Ben Mendelsohn who plays Danny Rayburn, Linda Cardellini who plays Meg Rayburn, and Norbert Leo Butz who plays Kevin Rayburn. Incidentally, Butz' character is expected to be given a wider arc in season 3.
Cindy Holland, vice president of Original Content at Netflix was the one who confirmed the show's return to the streaming site, saying Todd Kessler, Daniel Zelman, and Glenn Kessler, "Bloodline's" executive producers, "have created a riveting family saga featuring one of the most talented ensembles in the history of television."
"We can't wait to see what the next chapter holds for the all-too-human Rayburns," she added when she spoke to TV Line.
It will be recalled that up until the renewal, a third installment for "Bloodline" seemed impossible, as issues regarding the tax incentives offered by Florida hounded the series. There were speculations that production for the series was costly, and with the tax incentive expiring, the producers of the show was having second thoughts as far as giving it a third go.
This recent development is good news for fans who are eagerly awaiting the series' return. Zap2It listed down things that fans could expect in the upcoming season – a new locations, more ghosts, Belle (Kate Finneran) stepping up, Sally losing her innocence, perhaps more Chelsea (Chloe Sevigny) – and if any of these see the light of day, then "Bloodline" season 3 could be one exciting ride.
