'Bloodline' season 3 spoilers, updates: Filming stays in Florida; Danny continues to terrorize John?
Netflix has just given "Bloodline" season 3 the green light, and now, it has just been confirmed that the family drama would continue filming in Florida.
There were numerous twists and turns that occurred in the second season ender of "Bloodline," so much so that when rumors of its cancellation swirled, there was an uproar among fans. So many wanted to find out what happens to the members of the Rayburn family, and now that everything has been settled, production should be well underway for the series.
It was Ted Sarandos, Netflix chief content officer, who confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that majority of the show would still be shot in the Sunshine State during the recent Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour.
"Yeah, for sure," Sarandos told THR when asked to address the rumors. "It's an iconic location. The one thing that's cool about Netflix shows is that those locations are characters. In the Hell's Kitchen shows like 'Daredevil,' Hell's Kitchen is a character — we can't fake it in Canada. So tax credits are a nice offset but if it doesn't fit the creative, we're not going to chase it."
There were talks that the reason why production for "Bloodline" season 3 was delayed was the tax incentive issues it faced. Apparently, the tax credit for the series has expired and pushing through with production would cost the network so much. Now, though, it seems they have decided to keep the production in Florida despite the lack of tax credit.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Danny (Ben Mendelsohn) would continue to terrorize his brother John (Kyle Chandler). John killed Danny, the black sheep of the Rayburn family, but the character still appears in flashbacks and as a ghost. Since questions about Danny's death still haunt the family, it looks like he would seize this as the perfect opportunity to make John's life a living hell.
Glenn Kessler, co-creator of "Bloodline" has previously teased that Danny's presence is integral in moving the story forward. Hence, it's worth anticipating in which capacity the eldest Rayburn child would come back.
There will be 10 episodes for "Bloodline" season 3, but for right now, there is no word yet on its official return date.
