Bobbi Kristina News: Police Criminal Probe Gets Underway
The Georgia police confirmed on Monday that they are treating the discovery of Bobbi Kristina Brown unconscious in her bathtub last Jan. 31 as a criminal investigation.
The police said they are investigating the possibility of foul play, including drug use and potential cover-up to remove evidence from the crime scene. However, there is still no confirmation whether criminal charges will be brought against individuals.
Sources said the prognosis on Bobbi Kristina's current condition is not good, some describing it as grim, as the 21-year-old daughter of singer Whitney Houston remained unconscious and on life support at the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. No major changes on her condition were reported on Monday.
There were speculations that Bobbi Kristina would be taken off life support on the day of her mother's third death anniversary last Feb. 11, but these were slammed by her father Bobby Brown's lawyer, Christopher Brown.
Family members, including Bobbi Kristina's father Bobby Brown and grandmother Cissy Houston, continued to hold vigil by Bobby Kristina's bedside. Visibly absent was Nick Gordon, Bobbi Kristina's partner, who she considered her husband, but never legally wed, and one of the two people who discovered her unconscious in her bathtub, the other being her friend Max Lomas.
Bobbi Kristina's family has prevented Gordon from visiting her, as her family and Gordon have always had a strained relationship.
There were speculations that Gordon would seek legal action in order to see Bobbi Kristina, but Gordon quashed these rumors, through his lawyer, Randy Kessler, saying that he was not pursuing legal action as his only concern was the recovery of Bobbi Kristina.
Gordon said he continues to pray and hope for a reunion with her soon.
From the moment Bobbi Kristina was born to Houston and Brown, her life became a series of challenges. Houston was into heavy drug use when Bobbi Kristina was a baby, and Houston and Brown had a tumultuous relationship that sometimes ended in violence. Brown was also into heavy drug use. All this, the young Bobbi Kristina witnessed.
When Houston and Brown divorced, Bobbi Kristina and Houston became inseparable, but that also meant Bobbi Kristina became wrapped up in Houston's hard partying lifestyle.
When Houston died three years ago, Bobbi Kristina felt lost. She then clung to Gordon, who was brought up since he was 12 as an adopted brother to Bobbi Kristina by Houston. This was not taken well by family members. Any attempt to draw her out had been futile.
With Gordon under investigation, Bobbi Kristina's life lies in her long-estranged father, Brown's hands. Brown reportedly is still wishing for a miracle to happen, as he has not yet accepted that grim fact that maybe, just maybe, Bobbi Kristina will no longer come back.
