Body of Missing Oregon Mother Found In Remote Area, Police Say

The Oregon mother who went missing nearly two weeks ago has been discovered dead near her car in a remote area of Yamhill County, police say.

38-year-old Jennifer Huston, of Dundee, went missing on July 24 after telling her family she was going to go one errands. She visited a Rite Aid, where she purchased snacks and over-the-counter sleeping pills that police say were nonlethal. She was last seen at a gas station near Portland, where she topped off her gas tank.

Huston's husband, Kallen, pleaded for his wife's safe return during a press conference last week, telling the camera that he and their two sons needed her. "If you can come home, do."

"The boys need you, I need you."

Huston's husband reportedly told police that his wife was acting erratic the evening she left to run errands.

Huston's body was recovered Tuesday near her 1999 Lexus LX sport utility vehicle that she was last seen driving. The body was found near Sheridan, Oregon on Southeast Gopher Valley Road. The green Lexus was originally spotted by 74-year-old Vern Clemmer, who went out to chop wood on his property and spotted the Lexus. He wrote down the car's license plate because he thought it looked suspicious, and told his wife he smelled what he thought was a dead deer near the vehicle.

Concerned after he got an "eerie feeling," Clemmer turned back home on his tractor and called the police, who found Huston's body in the foliage near the vehicle after doing a quick sweep.
