'Bones' season 12 release date, spoilers news: Brennan's kidnapping disrupted wedding plans of Cam and Arastoo?

The penultimate season of "Bones" ended on a cliffhanger, with Brennan being kidnapped by her former intern Zack. Now fans are left wondering whether Zack Addy is the serial killer dubbed as The Puppeteer, which the Jeffersonian team has been after since episode 13 of season 11.

Co-executive producer Jonathan Collier has said that bringing Zack (Eric Millegan) back was something they have been considering. Nevertheless, he won't confirm whether Zack is The Puppeteer or not.

Zack seems to be the prime suspect based on what Booth (David Boreanaz) learned after talking to Brennan's (Emily Deschanel) shrink. Apparently, his wife has been having nightmares about Zack, which could mean "Bones" season 12 would give the latter a wide arc. The upcoming installment would also see Booth struggling with his wife's abduction.

It remains to be seen if Zack is merely a kidnapper or if he really is The Puppeteer. Collier said the character would figure much in the first few episodes of season 12, so fans are expecting that particular arc to be resolved early into the show's final run.

Meanwhile, it seems Brennan's kidnapping disrupted Cam (Tamara Taylor) and Arastoo's (Pej Vahdat) wedding plans. It would have to be put on the back burner because the team needs to focus on the main storyline, which is rescuing Brennan and taking down the serial killer before they can move forward with the happy event.

Speaking to TV Line at the recently concluded San Diego Comic-Con, Taylor admitted that she thought the marriage would never push through especially since chaos after chaos seemed to thwart their preparations. Nevertheless, the writers have committed to giving fans the much-awaited marriage of Cam and Arastoo, as revealed by Taylor herself.

In related news, Angela (Michaela Conlin) and Hodgins (TJ Thyne) would also see a marked improvement in their relationship in season 12, with Hodgins coming to terms with his new physical condition and recovering from his depression. This is good news for fans who have expressed concern about the stability of the couple's marriage.

The twelfth and final season of "Bones" is expected to drop in on Fox sometime in 2017. In the meantime, stay tuned for more updates and news about the upcoming installment.
