Boruto Naruto Movie Release Date, News: Sarada-Boruto Romance Likely in Hit Anime Film Spin-Off
Following the phenomenal success of "The Last: Naruto The Movie," fans of the franchise can now look forward to the release of the film's spin-off film "Boruto: Naruto The Movie," which is set to hit the big screen later this year.
The "Boruto: Naruto The Movie" will revolve around the lives of Sarada and Boruto (Bolt), which may possibly include an element of romance between the two lead characters.
"I conceived a story in which Bolt and (Sasuke's daughter) Sarada appear. Sasuke and Sakura also appear," Director Kishimoto told Anime News Network.
Kishimoto detailed how much he is committed to the upcoming project and the development of the characters' story even if the "Naruto" manga has already ended. He also said that he is looking at Boruto's special fighting technique, according to VCPost.
"Even though the manga ended, I haven't taken a break," he said. "I am also thinking about Bolt's [Boruto] lethal technique."
Junko Takeuchi, Naruto's voice actor, said about the new film's plot: "I can't possibly guess what's it about. But I'll enjoy it," Takeuchi said, referring to the plot of this new anime film.
"Boruto: Naruto The Movie," which was initially titled "Naruto: The New Era Project," is reported to feature Orochimaru as the most powerful enemy of the protagonist.
The sequel reportedly will be screened in theaters in August.
"The Last: Naruto The Movie" is said to record the highest opening sales in the anime franchise in Japan. It is expected to increase its sales further as it hits the big screen in the U.S. this month.
According to VCPost, "The Last: Naruto The Movie" is set during the time gap between two chapters of the "Naruto" manga, two years after the last great Shinobi war and the battle between the titular hero and Sasuke. It shows how Hinata and Naruto fell in love.
However, a new threat poses to bring an apocalyptic catastrophe to the whole world as the antagonist Toneri Otsutsuki, the last descendant of the ancestors of the Shinobi, seeks to use the Moon to destroy the world.
