Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie divorce news: Pitt sees children for the first time since split, submits to drug test
"Allied" star Brad Pitt spent time with his six children for the first time since his wife, Angelina Jolie, filed for divorce last month.
"Brad has spent some wonderful time with children recently," an unnamed informant reportedly told People.
Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt, her husband of two years, on Sept. 19. The "Maleficent" actress is reportedly seeking sole physical custody of their children — Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, Knox, 8, and Vivienne, 8 — in her divorce filing. Pitt reportedly wants shared custody.
"Brad loves his children more than anything in this world, and they matter more than anything else to him," a source close to Pitt has said to PEOPLE. "He will do whatever it takes to be with them, now and always," the source added.
Sources also say that the actor has consented to drug testing in accordance with the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services' (DCFS) investigation into a possible domestic violence incident involving him and one of his children.
Last month, reports surfaced that the DCFS is looking into an alleged altercation aboard a flight on the family's private plane earlier this year, in which Pitt allegedly got physical with Maddox when the latter tried to get between his parents, who were then having an argument.
The FBI has also gotten involved in the investigation as the incident was said to have occurred mid-flight and falls under special aircraft jurisdiction.
A DCFS spokesperson has reportedly confirmed that drug testing for parents involved in abuse investigations is standard procedure.
"I find it very hard to believe that they would take action with the facts that have been presented, given the fact that I don't believe the child received any injuries," David Kubiliun, chairman of Greenspoon Marder's criminal law practice group, told People.
According to the outlet, while those with ties to Pitt say that he is taking the matter very seriously, they have also lamented the way the media is portraying the actor.
