'Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 4 episodes 11 and 12 spoilers: The squad goes on a manhunt in one-hour midseason finale
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" treats its fans to a brand-new year with a one-hour midseason finale that sends Jake (Andy Samberg) and the rest of the 99th Precinct on their biggest manhunt yet.
In a two-part episode titled "The Fugitive," a prison van puts the streets of Brooklyn in danger when the convicts it's supposed to be transporting orchestrate a mass escape. The entire nine-nine squad are sent out to hunt them down with one key witness lending them a helping hand. But will the former National Football League (NFL) running back, Marshawn Lynch be of any real help or will he just inadvertently get in the way?
The press release for the upcoming episode does not indicate how many escaped convicts there will be, only that it will bring out the naturally competitive spirits of Brooklyn's 99th Precinct. The competition to bring in the most number of escaped convicts as possible especially becomes intense between Jake and his partner Amy (Melissa Fumero), who make a bet that whoever loses will have to move into the winner's place.
How will Captain Holt's (Andre Braugher) team handle this situation? Will they be able to work together to bring every one of the escaped convicts back to prison without a hitch, or will their petty differences give the fugitives enough leeway to get as far away from Brooklyn as possible? How dangerous will these escaped convicts be, and will they not be desperate enough to stay away from prison that they end up endangering some people's lives?
And who will win Jake and Amy's bet, especially after the former enlists the help of a surprising ally to get ahead of the game? Will Jake's plan work or will it end up backfiring on him?
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 4 will be airing its back-to-back midseason finale episodes next year on Sunday, Jan. 1, at 8:30 p.m. EST on FOX. The network has yet to announce its exact return date in spring.
