'Call of Duty Black Ops III' Release Date, PS4, Xbox One and PC: Trailer Video Shows Future World Facing Threat from Humanoid Robots
There was a lot of excitement when the first trailer for "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" was screened recently as it provided a good look of the upcoming game which was announced a few weeks back.
The trailer revealed that for the first time in the franchise, players will be able to choose the gender of the main character. There will also be a time jump which will see the series propelled into 2060.
The trailer depicted a future where man has pushed technology to its limits, an action that backfires with disastrous effects on humankind. As mankind loses control over its robotic creations, the latter turn out to be its biggest mistake.
On gaming sites, as the trailer was picked apart for clues about the upcoming game, it was soon revealed that "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" will come with several new gameplay changes which will be driven by the plot.
The plot will focus on a future where humanoid robots are used in battles. They are joined by flesh and blood soldiers augmented with robot-like parts and with neural implants that allow them to access data instantly whenever they need it.
The game begins when a massive data breach started allowing the soldiers to be controlled via their neural interface by the bad guys.
These soldiers form the core around which the game is fashioned. Players will be able to augment their abilities and robot parts as they progress in the game.
The game also draws inspiration from the Mass Effect game series.
Players will be able to choose the gender of their character as they are gender neutral. They can even play the entire game with a team of four female characters.
When "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" is released for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on Nov. 6 this year, it will feature three game modes, one of which will involve zombies. The main campaign in the game will include up to four players but otherwise the game will retain its first person shooter roots.
