'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare' Multiplayer Beta release date news 2016: Beta to skip over PC gamers
Members of the internet's "PC Master Race" will not be happy when they hear that the multiplayer beta for "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" will only be released for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
The move was said to be done by Activision to avoid players from mining any of the files and discovering any secrets that the game might hold. The multiplayer beta will be released for the PS 4 on Oct. 14 this year. The release for the Xbox will soon follow.
This, however, doesn't mean that the game will not be available for the PC. "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" initially debuted on the Playstation 4, but it was eventually released for other gaming platforms like the Xbox One and the PC.
Some fans are also not surprised that the game chose to skip Windows PC when it came to the beta. "Titanfall 2" did the same thing for the exact same reason.
To those who aren't familiar with data mining, this is a trend with some users who sift through the different files of a game in order to find any hidden in-game secrets. For instance, data miners for "Pokemon Go" have confirmed the presence of legendary Pokemon in the game despite several players' doubts that they will ever appear.
As of now, Activision is choosing to keep quiet on the details of the upcoming game. "Game of Thrones" fans will recognize that Jon Snow aka Kit Harrington will be making an appearance as the game's villain. This seems like a move similar to when "Call of Duty had "House of Cards" actor Kevin Spacey provide his voice and likeness for "Advanced Warfare."
PC gamers shouldn't fret though. The game will eventually come to this platform on the set release day or, if not, a few weeks after that.
The "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" multiplayer beta will be available for the PS4 on Oct. 14, 2016.
