Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden Wedding News: Couple Wed After Getting Engaged Just Last Month

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden got married Monday after a nine month romance. This is the first trip down the aisle for Diaz, who is 42, and Madden, 35, and the bride later gushed about the groom during a wedding toast and described him as her perfect man.

Diaz stated in her toast that she "had waited because she did not want to settle."

She then added, "Now she had the best man ever, a special man, and he is mine."

Meanwhile Madden in his toast stated that he wanted to be in control of two things during the wedding; "The music and the cake".

Importantly the press did not get wind of the wedding and details about the ceremony only emerged when a rep for the star confirmed that it had taken place.

In the statement, which was made to People Magazine, the rep stated, "Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden were married on Monday evening in an intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles."

The couple also released a statement about their marriage to People and described how they "couldn't be happier as we begin our new journey together surrounded by our closest family and friends."

Madden and Diaz, who have been dating since May, were engaged just before Christmas and it seemed that they could not wait to take their vows.

The Daily Mail reports that couple wed in a traditional Jewish ceremony, which was planned by Yifat Oren and Stefanie Cove. The celebrity wedding planners had previously fashioned the weddings of stars Reese Witherspoon, Drew Barrymore, Anne Hathaway and Natalie Portman.

Before the day of the wedding, the couple also held a rehearsal dinner at their home, which according to reports took place over the weekend. Diaz also had a bachelorette party with her friends on Sunday night at a hotel in Los Angeles.
