The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) has produced a docudrama titled "In Our Hands: The Battle for Jerusalem" to mark the 50th anniversary of Arab-Israeli Six-Day War, which was fought in 1967.

The docudrama tells the story of Israel's 55th Paratrooper Brigade and how the Israel Defense Forces risked everything for their homeland. The documentary was filmed on the actual battle sites with an all-Israeli cast, who reenacted the deadly battle at Ammunition Hill and the Old City. Apart from the historic reenactments, the film is also packed with interviews and archival footage.

"Most accounts of the Six-Day War are straight documentaries, and The Battle of Ammunition Hill is a sentence or two," said Gordon Robertson, CEO of CBN. "No film we know of actually recreates these pivotal scenes and events with such intense accuracy. For new generations of Jews and Christians, In Our Hands is a must-see," he added.

The film will be shown in more than 700 theaters across the U.S. for one night on Tuesday, May 23, according to The Jerusalem Post.

CBN's spokesman Michael Conrad said that the Six-Day War is of "tremendous importance" to Christians because some believe it to be the fulfillment of Jesus' prophecy in Luke 21:24, which states: "And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled."

"We believe the times of the Gentiles have been fulfilled – the Jews are back, and Israel has been reborn," Conrad said, adding that the Jews have been gathered again in Israel after being unable to assimilate into the other cultures where they have been dispersed.

The desire to produce the film goes back to the 1960s when CBN founder Pat Robertson first visited Israel. He felt at that time that part of CBN's mission was to be a blessing to Israel, which includes proclaiming the truth about the nation's past and present.

CBN believes that the film will help in countering the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement and other anti-Israel campaigns.

The network is expecting widespread Jewish attendance on the film's presentation on May 23 because of its strong historical emphasis. The producers have conducted a major outreach to the Jewish community and the film has received promotional support from Jewish groups such as AIPAC; BNAI Zion; The Jewish Voice; Jewish Federation; Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center; and the Temple of the Arts/Saban Theater.
