'Chicago Fire' season 5 episode 13 spoilers: Firehouse 51 gets in trouble with a superior in 'Trading in Scuttlebutt'

With the threat of another house's chief and a job offer for Severide (Taylor Kinney) in Springfield, it looks like "Chicago Fire" is in for some major changes. Will Firehouse 51 survive the upcoming challenges together, or will they completely be torn apart?

Titled "Trading in Scuttlebutt," Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) gets on the bad side of a superior, and the entire Firehouse 51 will pay the price for it. While responding to an emergency call, Boden makes a split-second decision which, in turn, encroaches on one Chief Anderson's (Michael Hanrahan) authority. The incident commander and his house were first to respond to the call. And after Boden unknowingly undercuts and damages his reputation, Anderson uses his power to make things difficult for Boden and Firehouse 51.

Meanwhile, Severide (Taylor Kinney) will be contemplating whether to stay or take the job that Mack (Nick Boraine) has offered him in the previous episode. His father's old friend told him that a Battle Chief position will be waiting for him in Springfield and expressed an interest in training Severide to take over his position someday.

In the trailer for the next episode, Severide goes to Springfield to get a feel of things and to also check on Anna (Charlotte Sullivan) who works at Springfield Med. When he tells Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) about it, his friend and former flame shows her quiet disapproval. However, the decision will still ultimately depend on Severide. Will he, as the trailer teases, give up hope with Stella for a chance of finding true love with Anna?

The decision will not be an easy one to make since Severide will still be toiling over it in episode 14.

Other things to look forward to in the upcoming episode is Hermann (David Eigenberg) doing a good deed and Brett (Kara Kilmer) making some personal changes in herself following her break up with Antonio (Jon Seda).

"Chicago Fire" season 5 episode 13 airs on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 10 p.m. EST on NBC, while episode 14 airs the following week on Feb. 21.
