Firehouse 51 is in for some big challenges when "Chicago Fire" airs three brand new episodes in February. While a personal vendetta puts Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) and his team's life at risk in the next episode, their problems will hardly end there.

Titled "An Agent of the Machine," episode 12 of NBC's action-drama series puts 51 on high alert when a survivor of a previous fire goes after Lt. Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer), fully believing that the latter has left him to die. The situation prompts Chicago P.D. to step in, which also brings former senior detective Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda) to the scene.

Aside from helping out with the case, Antonio, who is now the lead investigator at the State Attorney's Office, will also try to keep his relationship with Sylvie Brett (Kara Kilmer) from falling apart in the wake of his ex-wife Laura's (America Olivo) sudden return.

This upcoming life-threatening situation will eventually be averted, but the following episode presents Firehouse 51 with a much bigger bump on the road. Titled "Trading in Scuttlebutt," episode 13 brings Boden's house face to face with another vengeful man — only this time, Chief Anderson (Michael Hanrahan) has the power and the authority to really bring Boden's team down in ways they have never imagined.

When a split-second decision made by Boden during a dangerous accident undercuts and damages Anderson's reputation, the latter goes after the former, and the rest of Firehouse 51 will feel its repercussions.

In episode 14, titled "Purgatory," the situation only worsens when Anderson splits up and reassigns members of 51 to different firehouses around town, owing to a need for improvement. The team will try and make the best of their respective situations while Boden continues to fight to get his team back together again. However, this may just prove to be something that is completely out of his control.

The challenges begin in "Chicago Fire" season 5 episode 12, which will air on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 10 p.m. EST on NBC. Episodes 13 and 14 will air on Feb. 14 and Feb. 21, respectively.
