'Chicago P.D.' season 4 episode 10 air date, spoilers: Team deals with serial killer on the loose; Lindsay meets estranged father

A day after the "Chicago Fire" and "Chicago P.D." airs in January 2017, the police procedural drama returns to regular programming with the tenth episode of season 4 titled" Don't Read the News." In the upcoming installment, the team will deal with a serial killer on the loose while Lindsay (Sophia Bush) deals with family drama.

According to the synopsis for episode 10, the body of a young woman with multiple gunshot wounds is found and the circumstances of her death seem to be tied to other cases from the past. This leads the Intelligence Unit to believe that they are dealing with a serial killer. The team investigates the case and tries to connect it to the other murders in order to pin down the culprit. Intelligence also has to work under pressure as they try to provide closure for the families of the victims who have been looking for answers for a long time.

Meanwhile, Lindsay comes face-to-face with her estranged father Jimmy (Tony Crane) in the upcoming episode. In a sneak peek, Lindsay has an awkward and tense reunion with her father. She reveals that her mother, Bunny (Markie Post), led her to believe that her father was still locked up but Jimmy reveals that he has been out for some time now.

"I've been out ten years. I was married, which is why you didn't hear from me. We had two boys of our own," he tells Lindsay.

Lindsay struggles with his father's revelations and with his desire to reconnect with his daughter. Jimmy says that he is in town for a few days and hopes to make it up to Lindsay somehow. However, the police detective does not seem interested and storms off at the end of the clip.

Bush previously talked about how Lindsay is feeling after her mother revealed that she has been in contact with Jimmy and that he is in town.

"It's not something Erin's been seeking out. She certainly has not been in the position of looking for her dad. She survived 30 years without him and does have a great, almost adoptive relationship with Voight [Jason Beghe]. But her mother, in typical Bunny fashion, shows up and just, like, throws a hand grenade into the room," the actress told TVGuide.

Season 4 of "Chicago P.D." will return on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
