With the arrival of the new Chromebook 15, Acer has replaced their previous model with a device that is equipped with a 12-hour battery. The device also has a wider screen. But does that make the device worth buying?

Chromebook 15 is designed especially for users who spend most of their time working on the web. Just recently, Acer announced a new update that might encourage more people to stay productive online.

Aside from the latest 12-hour battery lifespan, Chromebook 15 now comes in a 15.6-inch display screen to provide a wider view for various applications on the menu.

Previously, Chromebooks had only up to 12-inch display screens for the usual web surfing tasks. Hence, the larger screen now makes it an even better device for work.

Although the Chromebook 15 upgrade has received positive reviews, it has not escaped criticism. According to Engadget, Acer's updated Chromebook 15 might be remarkably inexpensive, which is pegged at $199.

However, the device's specs has bad combinations. Although it provides a wider space for multiple tabs and applications, its screen resolution is reportedly common for a smaller screen. With a 1,366 x 768 resolution, this 15.6-inch device's resolution is actually typical for gadgets with 11-inch screens.

Moreover, the report stated that Chromebook 15 has only 2 GB of RAM which is not recommendable especially if Acer cannot upgrade its capacity. But because Chromebook 15 is meant to be affordable, users will get the tech that they are paying for.

On the other hand, Tech Times has also expressed that the new Chromebook 15's Intel Celeron N3060 dual-core processor is not of the best quality and that it only has 16 GB storage space. Although Chromebook 15 is considered compromised, it could decently run the Chrome OS.

Watch out for more updates on the Chromebook 15.
