Colo. Planned Parenthood Suspect Pleads Guilty, Says He's a 'Warrior for Babies'

The suspect accused of attacking a Colorado Planned Parenthood and killing three has pled guilty for his actions, saying he is a "warrior for the babies."

57-year-old Robert Lewis Dear said in a Colorado court this week that he is guilty of the shooting that left three dead on November 27, arguing that he will not go to trial.

Dear reportedly interrupted his court hearing multiple times, speaking over his public defender to tell the judge that he did not wish to pursue a trial since he considers himself guilty.

"You'll never know what I saw in that clinic. Atrocities. The babies. That's what they want to seal," Dear reportedly shouted, unprompted, during his hearing.

"Seal the truth, huh? Kill the babies. That's what Planned Parenthood does," Dear added later.

"I am guilty," Dear reportedly said during the hearing, adding "There will be no trial."

Local police officials told media outlets that following Dear's arrest on November 27, he reportedly told authorities "no more baby parts" in reference to his motive for opening fire on the Planned Parenthood clinic.

Dear allegedly entered the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood clinic on November 27 and engaged police in a five-hour standoff that ended with his arrest.

According to the New York Times, Dear's lawyer, Daniel King, reportedly told the judge that he would like to explore Dear's mental competency before going to trial

"We have serious concerns about competency in this case," King said.
