'Crackdown 3' release pushed back to 2017; creative director talks reason for delay
The anticipation for "Crackdown 3" continues and those who have Microsoft Windows or Xbox One will surely have fun once the game finally becomes available.
However, they may have to wait a little longer as there is still no official release date for Reagent Games' upcoming game. According to various news sources, "Crackdown 3" is slated to be released around 2017, so the waiting time should be a little longer.
It was initially set to launch around 2016, but creative director Dave Jones revealed that making the game was proving to be difficult as the size of the sandbox game is too big to be hastily completed.
As a result, Reagent Games had no choice but to push back the game's release date.
In a statement released on the game's official site, Jones said: "Crackdown 3 is a game built for the future with a multiplayer experience that will redefine what it feels like to play games, and as we continue to work on this, it has become clear that our original timeline of delivering multiplayer to fans this summer, while maintaining the size, scope and quality of the game, would be challenging. Our top priority is to give gamers an experience they have never seen before at a scale never thought possible, and sticking to our original timeline would have compromised that goal."
He also acknowledged that "many are looking forward to becoming Agents in Crackdown 3," saying the company is "committed to delivering the best experience in 2017." He added, "This decision was made with our fans and their gaming experience in mind."
One good thing about the game is that it is an Xbox Play Anywhere title so that means that players can switch using their Xbox One or Windows 10 computer and just play the game where they left off.
Despite not having a release date, there is a pre-order for the game, and on Amazon, it costs $57 by Microsoft.
Although its release may still be far off, the hype behind the game continues to rise and "Crackdown 3" may end up as one of the biggest titles for 2017.
