Dallas Cowboys trade rumors 2016: Cowboys sign Sanchez

Mark Sanchez has definitely had a tough summer so far.

After arriving in the league in 2009, the 29-year-old has now moved to four teams.

He began his career with the New York Jets, having personal success before missing out the 2013 season due to a shoulder injury.

It proved to be the final straw during his time with the Jets as he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles. During his time there he put up good numbers, playing nine games in his first season to have a completion rate of 64 percent, his best at the time, and complete 14 touchdowns in the season.

In the next year, Sanchez was limited to only four games as he played second fiddle to Sam Bradford and came along as Bradford picked up an injury in November.

During his stint in 2015, Sanchez posted even better numbers as he had a 65 percent completion rate and had four touchdowns in as many appearances.

That resulted in him being picked up by the Super Bowl 50 champions Denver Broncos as a possible replacement for the retired Peyton Manning.

However, things have become tough that Sanchez was ultimately cut by the Broncos for a younger quarterback.

But Sanchez was not out of a job for too long as he was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as their backup quarterback.

The Cowboys will have rookie quarterback Dak Prescott as their starting quarterback, with Sanchez behind him as a back-up and probably a mentor while the Cowboys do not have Tony Romo's services.

However, it is very intriguing what Sanchez's role will be when Romo finally comes back from injury. It is likely that Sanchez's stay with the team is temporary, and he may be released sooner rather than later.

But for Sanchez, this may be an opportunity to show everyone that he is still a decent quarterback and that the Broncos missed out on a dependable leader when they cut him from the team.
