With Netflix planning numerous Marvel series such as "Luke Cage," "Iron Fist," and "The Punisher," it's been said that a third season of "Daredevil" would be hard to squeeze into the schedule. This could be the reason why the streaming giant has yet to release an official statement regarding the much-awaited installment of the hit superhero series.

But while fans are yet to know whether "Daredevil" season 3 will even arrive, the show's lead star, Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil), already talked about who he wanted to see as a villain should Netflix decide to make a third season.

"If we are fortunate enough to continue making the 'Daredevil' series, I can't imagine doing a run of Daredevil where Bullseye doesn't show up at some point ... the history that Bullseye has with Karen Page is an interesting dynamic," said Cox during a conference call months ago.

The last time fans saw "Bullseye" was during Ben Affleck's run as "Daredevil" back in 2003, and he was played by Colin Farrell. Bullseye is known to be a top assassin in the comics, as well as an expert marksman. Though he has no known powers, he is known to hit his targets not just with guns, but with random objects (his signature weapon in the comics is playing cards). Rumors had been floating around that Jason Statham was considered for the role.

Comic Book reported that there were speculations about the third season following Frank Miller's "Born Again" storyline from the comics. In the comics, Daredevil comes into a crash course with Wilson Fisk as Matt Murdock's life comes crumbling down.

"Daredevil" season two ended with a lot of changes to Murdock's lifestyle. His law firm Nelson and Murdock was closed down, Foggy (Elden Henson) left to work for Hogarth's (Carrie-Anne Moss) firm, and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) ended up working for the New York Bulletin.

Also, Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) has taken control of the prison that is holding him, and he may already have a clue on Matt's alter ego. On top of all that, the Punisher (Jon Bernthal) is set loose in the city, and Elektra (Elodie Yung), Matt's love interest, was killed by the Hand. Things could not look worse for Matt.

Though no plans for "Daredevil" season 3 have been announced, fans will get to see him assemble with the other Netflix Marvel heroes in "The Defenders" when it comes out in 2017.
