'Deadpool 2' release date, cast news: Liam Neeson to be cast as Cable?
Shortly after the highly successful of "Deadpool" earlier this year, Twentieth Century Fox has already greenlit the production of its sequel. "Deadpool 2" is slated for a 2018 release date, but as early as now, there are rumors circulating on the internet regarding the actors who will play the much awaited Marvel comic book characters. Aside from Deadpool or Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) himself, the fanboys are also hyped to know who will play the iconic character of Cable.
The arrival of Cable in the sequel is already hinted in the post-credits scene in "Deadpool." Cable is known in the comics as a powerful time-traveling mutant, and for the fans, casting the right actor for the character is very important. As noted by Yibada, Cable is described as a strong mutant with a heavily built body. Unlike the recent superhero characters in the movies, Cable is not expected to be on the younger side. Thus, there are speculations that "Taken" actor Liam Neeson is being considered for the role as he is perfectly fit to play the character.
Moreover, it is rumored that Fox's top pick to play Cable is Neeson. The problem lies with the preference of rumored "Deadpool 2" director Tim Miller, who does not see the actor in the said role. On the other hand, Movie Web reported that the "Bloodline" star Kyle Chandler is also being considered for the role.
While the exact plotline of the "Deadpool" sequel is not yet confirmed, the fans are already expecting that one of the highlights of the movie is the big Deadpool versus Cable showdown.
The other new mutant to meet Wade Wilson in "Deadpool 2" is Domino. According to Movie News Guide, former "Castle" actress Stana Katic is likely to play the role and also possible to be introduced as the new love interest of Reynold's character. Some people believe that Katic can pull off the hard stunts of Domino in the movie.
